Upon completion of a Health Pass in the CLEAR app, you will see a color-coded screen that includes a picture of your face above a QR code, and an “expires in” countdown timer. Members who use a vaccination record to create a Health Pass will see a green screen. Members who use a negative COVID-19 test to create a Health Pass will see a gold screen. It is important to note that the quarantine exemption process is not complete until you link your CLEAR Health Pass with a unique trip on the Hawaii Safe Travels website. You can do this by choosing “CLEAR Exception” option under the “Apply for Exemption/Exception from Quarantine” page.
Passengers traveling to Hawaii can upload a negative test from one of Hawaii's trusted testing partners or a vaccination record in the Hawaii Safe Travels portal to avoid a 10-day mandatory quarantine. CLEAR is an accepted alternative that provides access to a larger network of testing providers and enables users to verify vaccination records and avoid secondary screening of CDC cards upon arrival at the airport.
Please use the following tips to capture an image of your CDC Card:
1. Ensure your fingers are not over the edges of the document.
2. Take the photo in a well-lit area, with a dark background, even light, and no shadows.
3. Ensure the information on the CDC card is clearly visible (no glare).
If your CDC card is heavily damaged or has a sticker applied that obstructs the card template, our system is unlikely to accept the upload. If you cannot successfully upload your vaccination record with CLEAR, we recommend uploading a photo of your credential directly on the Hawaii Safe Travels website in the “COVID Vaccine Exception” section of the “Apply for Exemption/Exception from Quarantine” page.
You must provide negative COVID-19 test results from a test taken within a maximum of 72 hours of the departure time of your final flight leg to Hawaii. Be sure to check with the lab/health system you've selected to ensure the required deadline can be met. CLEAR cannot guarantee that all labs will accommodate 72-hour turnaround time.
Quicker access and more lab choices. With CLEAR you can link your digitally verified test results or proof of vaccination directly into the Hawaii Safe Travels portal to satisfy the quarantine exemption requirements. Most airlines will verify your status by scanning the QR Code provided by Hawaii and provide you with a wristband that allows you to skip the verification line upon arrival in Hawaii.
No. At this time, CLEAR Health Pass for Hawaii travel only supports members that are 18 or older. All minors -- including accompanied minors traveling with parents -- must provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test from a Hawaii Trusted Testing Partner or upload a vaccination record on the Hawaii Safe Travels website.
You will verify your information with your airline at the gate before departure or upon arrival in Hawaii by showing your Hawaii Safe Travels QR code. Most airlines will verify your health screening and give you a wrist band before you depart, but the process may vary depending on your airline and departure airport. CLEAR Ambassadors in the CLEAR Lanes at airport security are not able to check your Health Pass and Safe Travels QR code, you must show a rep from your airline.
