CLEAR Airport Guide: Harry Reid International Airport

Harry Reid International Airport (LAS) is the gateway to Las Vegas and southern Nevada, putting travelers close to the Strip, major sports and entertainment venues, and the desert landscapes beyond the city.

From local dining and Las Vegas-inspired shopping to airport experiences and traveler tips, here’s what to know to make the most of your time at LAS.

‍

Why Fly Through LAS?

Harry Reid International Airport connects Las Vegas with destinations across the U.S. and around the world. Its location is one of its biggest advantages: The airport sits just a few miles from the Las Vegas Strip, putting you close to resorts, convention centers, restaurants, entertainment, and major sporting events after you land.

‍

‍

LAS is also a starting point for exploring southern Nevada and the Southwest. Red Rock Canyon, Hoover Dam, and Lake Mead are all within driving distance, whether Las Vegas is your final destination or the beginning of a desert road trip.

The airport has two passenger terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, with four gate areas connected by an airport tram network. Knowing your terminal before you arrive can make getting around LAS easier.

‍

Did You Know? Harry Reid International Airport is one of the few major airports where travelers are greeted by slot machines almost immediately after landing—a uniquely Las Vegas tradition that has welcomed visitors for decades.

‍

Experience Las Vegas at LAS

Las Vegas is known for world-class dining, headline entertainment, championship sports, and unmistakable style. Harry Reid International Airport brings some of that character into the travel experience, with local favorites and touches of Las Vegas throughout the terminals.

Our recommendations combine local favorites with picks from CLEAR Ambassadors, who spend their days helping travelers at the airport.

Where to Eat at Las Vegas Airport

Las Vegas has become a dining destination in its own right, where neighborhood favorites share the spotlight with steakhouses, celebrity chefs, and restaurants from around the world. LAS offers a taste of that variety before takeoff.

Our CLEAR Ambassadors recommend PGA Tour Grill in Terminal 1, with a golf-inspired setting that feels right at home in a destination known for year-round play and major tournaments. Travelers departing from Terminal 3 can also find a second PGA Tour Grill location.

In Terminal 3, our CLEAR Ambassadors recommend Village Pub, an airport location from the Las Vegas-born restaurant group known for casual pub fare. Las Vegas Chophouse & Brewery offers steaks and seafood for travelers looking for a sit-down meal before boarding.

LAS has a few more local stops worth seeking out. In Terminal 1, Siegel’s Bagelmania brings a longtime Las Vegas favorite to the airport. The local deli got its start in Las Vegas in 1989, making its bagels, breakfast, and deli classics a distinctly local option before an early flight.

Travelers passing through the D gates can stop at Vegas Born Bar & Grill. Created in partnership with the Vegas Golden Knights, the restaurant celebrates the city’s NHL team with memorabilia and nods to its 2023 Stanley Cup championship—a fitting stop in a city where professional sports have become a major part of the entertainment scene.

Where to Shop at LAS

Las Vegas is known for glamorous resorts, headline entertainment, and unmistakable style. LAS brings some of that personality into its shops, with local makers, hometown teams, and Nevada-made treats that give travelers a chance to bring a piece of the destination home.

Before airport security in Terminal 1, browse DT Arts Market for art, jewelry, and gifts from Las Vegas creators, or visit Marshall Rousso, a local fashion brand with roots in the city dating back to the 1950s.

Beyond airport security, Ethel M Chocolates has several locations throughout LAS, making its locally made chocolates an easy-to-pack taste of southern Nevada. Sports fans can visit The Raider Image in Terminal 1 or Terminal 3 for official Las Vegas Raiders apparel and accessories.

‍

Make the Most of Your Time at LAS

Las Vegas is built around memorable experiences, and you don’t have to wait until you reach the Strip to find one. Whether you have an hour before boarding or several hours between flights, LAS offers plenty of ways to spend your time.

‍

Local Insight: Designed by Betty Willis in 1959, the iconic Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign has greeted visitors for more than six decades. The landmark stands on Las Vegas Boulevard just south of the Strip’s major resorts and close to Harry Reid International Airport, making it a familiar sight for travelers arriving in the city.

‍

Before You Board

In Terminal 1, visit the free Howard W. Cannon Aviation Museum, located above baggage claim, to explore southern Nevada’s aviation history through exhibits and artifacts. Additional museum displays appear throughout Terminal 1, while public art across LAS draws inspiration from the bright lights of Las Vegas and the desert Southwest.

If you’d prefer something active before your flight, follow one of the airport’s Fly Fit walking paths. Looking to unwind? XpresSpa has several locations throughout LAS offering massages and other spa services.

If You Have Extra Time

LAS's tram network makes it easy to explore beyond your departure gate without leaving the secure area. The D gates are accessible from both Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, giving travelers another area to explore between flights.

Use the extra time to discover another part of the airport, browse Las Vegas and Nevada-made finds, grab a meal, or explore more of LAS's public art before heading back to your gate.

Long Layover

Have several hours between flights?

Harry Reid International Airport sits just minutes from the Las Vegas Strip, making it easy to visit the Bellagio Conservatory & Botanical Gardens, explore a few of the Strip's resorts, or head downtown for the lights and live entertainment at Fremont Street Experience. For a classic West Coast meal closer to the airport, stop at In-N-Out Burger on South Maryland Parkway before your next flight.

Tight Connection

If you’re connecting through LAS, check your departure gate as soon as you land. The airport’s gate areas are connected by a mix of pedestrian walkways and trams, so your route will depend on where you arrive and depart.

CLEAR Concierge Arrival Service is now available at Harry Reid International Airport for CLEAR+ Members—your personal airport concierge will greet you at the gate when you land, help with your bags, and bring you straight to your connecting flight or ground transportation.

Accessibility at LAS

Harry Reid International Airport offers several accessibility tools to help travelers navigate the airport more independently. Aira Explorer connects travelers who are blind or have low vision with a trained agent who can provide real-time visual guidance, while Aira ASL offers on-demand video interpretation for travelers who are Deaf or hard of hearing. LAS also supports MagnusCards, a free app with step-by-step visual guides for airport activities such as checking in, going through airport security, finding a restroom, boarding, and collecting bags.

LAS also participates in the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program, which allows travelers with non-visible disabilities to discreetly indicate that they may benefit from additional time, patience, or assistance. There are no eligibility requirements, and complimentary Sunflower lanyards are available at airport Information Counters. Travelers can also request a free lanyard before their trip and have it mailed to their home. The lanyard does not provide priority access or expedited TSA screening.

Wheelchair assistance is also available, and LAS recommends arranging it with your airline in advance. Travelers who need last-minute mobility assistance at the airport can contact one of the airport’s wheelchair service providers. For additional resources, visit the LAS Special Assistance guide.

‍

Navigate Harry Reid International Airport

Understanding the layout of LAS can help you enjoy a seamless travel day. Here’s what to know about terminals, transportation, and airport security before you go.

Know Your Terminal

Harry Reid International Airport has two terminals: Terminal 1 and Terminal 3. Terminal 1 serves airlines including Allegiant, American, Delta, and Southwest, while Terminal 3 serves all international airlines along with select domestic carriers. Because airline assignments vary, check the official LAS airline directory before your trip to confirm where to check in and drop your bags.

Getting Between Terminals

LAS uses an automated airport tram network to connect Terminal 1, Terminal 3, the C gates, and the D gates. The D gates are a satellite concourse that travelers can reach from either terminal, so your departure gate doesn’t always tell you which terminal to use for check-in.

Before airport security, a free inter-terminal shuttle also connects Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, with service approximately every 20 to 30 minutes. If you need to check a bag, head to the terminal assigned to your airline before using the airport’s transportation network.

‍

Traveler Tip: Don’t assume a D gate means Terminal 1 or Terminal 3. The D gates are a separate satellite concourse accessible by tram from both terminals. Check your airline’s terminal before arriving, especially if you need to check bags.
