CLEAR eGates have verified more than 11 million traveler verifications across 48 airports with zero security issues since eGates were first deployed in August 2025. Checkpoint capacity in airports with eGates has increased by ~50k travelers per day, TSA labor efficiency has increased up to 25%, and traveler experience scores have increased by 14 points.

This technology scales rapidly: single, double, and triple eGates yield 250–750 travelers per hour as biometric verification takes less than 5 seconds. eGates serve as a major security force multiplier—allowing TSA officers to focus on other mission critical screening tasks. To date, eGate deployment has saved more than 59,000 TSO hours, alleviating frontline fatigue and helping the TSA maximize the utility of its existing checkpoint footprint.

CLEAR’s eGates strengthen airport security by integrating high-assurance identity verification into TSA’s system, combining multi-layered biometric authentication with automated physical barriers to deliver the highest level of checkpoint security. 

• CLEAR’s identity proofing and authentication processes meet the highest industry and government standards set in the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Digital Identity Guidelines. 
• Identities are corroborated against the issuing source to meet or exceed Identity Assurance Level 2 (IAL2) verification standards for strong identity validation and credential-to-user binding. CLEAR is the only company in aviation today that source-corroborates digital identities against U.S. Passports and state-issued IDs.
