Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA), commonly known as Sea-Tac, is the primary airport serving Seattle and western Washington. Every year, millions of travelers choose Sea-Tac for trips through the Pacific Northwest.

From local restaurants and Pacific Northwest shopping to transportation, traveler services, and airport tips, here's everything you need to discover, navigate, and enjoy your time at Sea-Tac.

Why Fly Through Sea-Tac?

As Alaska Airlines' primary hub and a major airport for Delta Air Lines, Sea-Tac offers nonstop service throughout the U.S., Alaska, Hawaii, Asia, and Europe. Unlike many major airports, it operates from a single terminal with connected concourses, making it easy to navigate once you're inside. It's also one of the few large U.S. airports with direct light rail service to downtown, making it easy to explore Seattle without renting a car.

Sea-Tac brings the spirit of the Pacific Northwest into the airport. From Washington wines and local restaurants to independent retailers and one of the country's largest airport art collections, there's plenty to discover before your flight. On clear days, Mount Rainier is often visible as you arrive or depart. Known simply as "The Mountain" by many locals, it's one of the Pacific Northwest's most recognizable landmarks.

Did You Know? Sea-Tac is home to one of the largest public art collections of any U.S. airport, with sculptures, glass installations, photography, and multimedia exhibits displayed throughout the terminal.

Experience the Pacific Northwest at Sea-Tac

The Pacific Northwest is known for its coffee, seafood, wine, music, and outdoor spirit—and Sea-Tac brings that culture to life. Whether you're looking for a memorable meal, a locally made gift, or a quiet place to unwind, you'll find plenty to enjoy before boarding.

From favorite local spots to recommendations from our CLEAR Ambassadors, here's where to eat, shop, and explore at Sea-Tac.

Where to Eat at Sea-Tac

Seattle's food scene is rooted in Pacific Northwest ingredients, from fresh seafood and artisan cheeses to locally roasted coffee and Washington wines.

Our CLEAR Ambassadors recommend starting in the Central Terminal, where you can sample Washington wines at Vyne Washington Tasting Room, enjoy handcrafted chocolates and gourmet coffee at Dilettante Mocha Café, or explore several Seattle-area vendors at Capitol Hill Food Hall.

Flying from the A Gates? Floret by Café Flora serves fresh, seasonal dishes inspired by Pacific Northwest ingredients. Near the D Gates, Poke to the Max reflects Seattle's longstanding connection to the Pacific with Hawaiian-inspired flavors. If you're heading to the North Satellite, stop by Beecher's Handmade Cheese, the Pike Place Market favorite known for artisan cheeses, grilled cheese sandwiches, and its signature "World's Best" mac and cheese.

Need a coffee before you board? No matter which concourse you're flying from, you'll find a Starbucks nearby, an appropriate stop before leaving the city where the company began.

Where to Shop at Sea-Tac

If you’re looking for a souvenir from your time in Seattle, Sea-Tac offers plenty of local finds throughout the airport.

Browse locally made coffee, wine, smoked salmon, chocolates, and artisan gifts at Made in Washington in the Central Terminal, or pick up handcrafted treats from Seattle Chocolate near the C Gates.

If you're traveling through the North Satellite, discover Seattle-inspired artwork and locally designed apparel at CHALO Seattle, or shop clothing and accessories from independent designers at Show Pony.

Make the Most of Your Time at Sea-Tac

Whether you have an hour before boarding or extra time between flights, Sea-Tac offers plenty of ways to relax and experience the Pacific Northwest.

Before You Board

Families can visit the Children's Play Area near the Central Terminal or pick up a new read from the Little Free Library before boarding.

If you're passing through Concourse C, our CLEAR Ambassadors recommend visiting The Lookout at C for panoramic runway views before stopping by Tree at C, a welcoming gathering space featuring public art, comfortable seating, and regular live music performances.

Seattle's music legacy is part of the Sea-Tac experience. Listen for live performances from local musicians throughout the terminal, then stop by the Sub Pop Airport Store in the Central Terminal to browse apparel, records, and merchandise from the legendary Seattle record label.

If You Have Extra Time

Sea-Tac's connected concourses and complimentary SEA Underground train make it easy to explore beyond your departure gate without leaving the secure area.

Take time to discover another concourse, browse local shops, enjoy public art, or grab a meal before your flight.

Long Layover

Have several hours between flights?

The Link light rail reaches downtown Seattle in about 35 to 40 minutes, making it easy to visit Pike Place Market, explore the waterfront, or enjoy one more cup of coffee before your next flight.

Making a Tight Connection

If your connection is short, check your departure gate as soon as you land.

Flights to the North and South Satellite require a ride on the SEA Underground, so allow a few extra minutes if you're changing concourses.

For airport-specific connection guidance, visit Sea-Tac's official I'm Connecting guide and explore our guide to making a tight flight connection.

Enjoy a Seamless Travel Day at Sea-Tac

Whether you're traveling with young children, supporting someone with accessibility needs, or simply looking for a more predictable travel day, Sea-Tac offers services that can help.

Accessibility at Sea-Tac

Sea-Tac participates in the Hidden Disabilities Sunflower Program, which helps travelers discreetly indicate their need for additional time or assistance while moving through the airport.

The program supports travelers with non-visible disabilities and conditions, including autism, ADHD, hearing loss, anxiety, chronic illnesses, dementia, and sensory sensitivities.

Complimentary Sunflower lanyards are available at airport information booths.

Travelers looking for a quieter environment before boarding can also visit one of Sea-Tac's two Sensory Rooms. One is located near The Lookout at C, while the other is near the SEA Underground A Station. Both spaces provide a calm environment away from the activity of the terminal.

Navigate Sea-Tac

Know Your Gate

Sea-Tac has one main terminal with six concourses: A, B, C, D, North Satellite (N), and South Satellite (S). Every concourse is connected after airport security, making it easy to move throughout the airport. Gate assignments occasionally change, so make sure to check your boarding pass or the airport's flight information displays after you arrive.
