  • Who can become a CLEAR member?

    CLEAR welcomes US citizens and legal permanent residents 18 and older

    • Must have US Passport or US issued Permanent Resident or Alien Registration Card
    • CLEAR members must present a secondary ID: US Drivers License or a State Issued ID or a US Military or a Foreign Passport
    • All forms of identification must be valid, unexpired, not amended, and have a photo. Names must match on IDs.
    • Children under 18 can use the CLEARlane without a CLEAR card accompanied by a CLEAR family member.
  • How does CLEAR work?

    CLEAR is the fastest, most predictable way through airport security.  At participating airports, look for the CLEARlane at TSA security checkpoints. A CLEAR team member will greet you at our lane. Then just insert your CLEARcard into the kiosk, tap your finger and we’ll escort you straight to physical screening.  Easy and Fast!

  • How do I join CLEAR?

    Enrolling is completed in 2 easy steps:

    1. Register online or at one of our enrollment centers
    2. Visit us in person at one of our enrollment centers with your driver’s license and an unexpired/ unamended US Passport, US issued Permanent Resident Card or US issued Alien Registration Card (or other approved ID) to complete your enrollment. It only takes 5 minutes!
    3. Receive your CLEARcard in the mail in about 5-7 business days, ready to use on your next flight.

  • Will my old CLEARcard work?

    As long as your CLEARcard has your photo, it’s still good.

    If not, you need to order a replacement. Login to your account to order a new card (we’ve already got your photo on file!).

  • Former Members – Old CLEAR company

    It’s quick and easy to reactivate your account. Reactive here and update your account information. You will not need to provide biometrics again, since we have them on file. If you need a new CLEARcard, you can order one when you update your information.

    We are dedicated to our customers and strive to create the best experience for you. As a result, we will credit you the remaining time to your account. This time will be activated when you first use your CLEARcard or when we open in your home airport, whichever is first.

  • Does the name on my CLEARcard need to match the name on my boarding pass?

    Yes. In compliance with airport security and safety regulations, and in order to use our CLEARlanes, the name on your boarding pass must match the name on your CLEARcard. To ensure a seamless experience when using CLEAR, please remember when you book your travel to use the name on your CLEARcard.

  • How do I order a replacement CLEARcard?

    If you have misplaced or lost your CLEAR card you may order a new one from your online account page. Login to your account at clearme.com. Then, click “Yes, reorder a CLEARcard” on the right side of the account page.

  • How do I print my receipt?

    Once your credit card on file has been successfully charged for your CLEAR membership, you can print your most recent receipt from your account page. Login to your account at clearme.com and click “print receipt” on the right side.

  • How do I log into my account?

    Visit clearme.com, click “Your Account” and then click Login.

  • How do I update my account information?

    Ensuring that the information on your CLEAR account is correct and up to date is essential. Current information allows us to serve you more efficiently. Updating this takes only a few minutes to do online. Login to your account and update any information (e.g. address, credit card, username, password, etc.). Use the “yes” “no” buttons to indicate the information to be updated. Note: this does not include name changes (Name changes must be processed in person).

  • I changed my name, how do I update my account?

    To update your name with CLEAR, you’ll need to visit an enrollment center. We will update your records and biometrics for your new CLEARcard.

    Please bring:

    • Your updated (renewed, not amended) US Passport or US issued Permanent Resident or Alien Registration Card
    • Your updated secondary ID: US Drivers License or a State Issued ID or a US Military or a Foreign Passport
    • All forms of identification must be valid, unexpired, not amended, and have a photo. Names on IDs must match.
  • How do I order a replacement CLEARcard?

  • How long does it take to receive my CLEARcard?

    You will receive your CLEARcard 7-10 days after you’ve completed your biometrics.

  • How do I activate my canceled membership?

    Do you want CLEAR back? Simply call customer service at 855-CLEARME (253-2763) M-F 9am-9pm EST. We will be happy to reactivate your account and order you a new card if you need one. You do not need to update your biometrics, as we have them on file.

  • How do I cancel my membership?

    Email cancel@clearme.com with your full name, member number (found at the bottom of any CLEAR emails), and the email address you used to register.

Pre-Check/ Global Entry

  • How do CLEAR and Global Entry Differ?

    CLEAR
    • CLEAR speeds members through airport security on departing flights
    Global Entry
    • Global Entry speeds passengers through US Border Control and Customs on arriving flights

    CLEAR and Global Entry are complementary, speedy services.

  • Where is CLEAR integrated with PreCheck?

    We are currently integrated with PreCheck in all of our CLEARlocations!  CLEAR members who are eligible for PreCheck now get the best of both worlds. You can use the CLEARlane as usual to avoid the long security lines. We’ll scan your boarding pass and bring you to the PreCheck screening lane (if eligible for that flight) where you can keep your shoes and belt on, etc.

  • How much does CLEAR cost?

    The standard CLEAR membership is $179 per year (just $15 per month).
    Add a family member (over 18) for only $50.
    Children under 18 can use the CLEARlane with a CLEAR member for free (and
    without a CLEARcard!)

    We also strive to make your CLEAR membership as valuable as possible. To offer
    you attractive benefits, we’ve partnered with Regus, Hertz, Founders Card, and Visa
    Signature.

  • How do I add a family member?

    Once you are a CLEARmember, login to your account to access your Family code. Your family member can input this code into the Promo Code box during their enrollment.
    Remember: children under 18 can use the lane for free. No card required.

  • Corporate/ US Government discounts?

    CLEAR works with companies (big and small) to become a corporate benefit.

Visa Signature

  • What is this offer?

    Visa Signature cardholders must use their Visa Signature card and register at Visa Signature to receive 6 months free CLEAR membership and $60 off the $179 annual rate when their membership automatically renews

  • How do I participate in this offer?

    Visa Signature cardholders can participate in this offer by completing the following steps:

    1. Go online directly to visa.clearme.com/signature
    2. Enter all 16 digits of your Visa Signature card number to ensure you are eligible for the offer. Your card will not be charged for this step. The card number is used for verification of eligibility for the offer. Your information is transmitted over a high level encryption (SSL) and is not used for any other purposes.
    3. Once you are verified, start and complete the online enrollment process.
    4. Enter your Visa Signature card number to pay for your order.
    5. Complete the purchase process and follow the instructions on your confirmation page to complete the enrollment process and receive your CLEARmembership.
  • How do I know if I have a Visa Signature card?

    • Please check your card by looking for the Visa logo and confirming the word ‘Signature’ appears adjacent to the logo. If you are unsure if your card is a Visa Signature card, please contact your bank directly.
    • Once your bank has confirmed you as a Visa Signature cardholder, please contact AskVisaUSA@visa.com with any further questions regarding offer eligibility. Title your email “Visa Signature Clear Discount Offer” (For your security and protection, please DO NOT include your complete credit card number in any correspondence).
  • Why do I have to enter my entire 16-digit card number on visa.clearme.com/signature before I make a purchase? How will Visa use this information?

    Visa will use your 16-digit Visa Signature card number for the following purposes:

    1. To validate that you are an eligible Visa Signature cardholder in order to redeem offer. Your card will not be charged for this step.
    2. To track your engagement with the CLEAR program so that we can evaluate whether to offer more programs like these in the future.
  • Why am I receiving an error message?

    You may be receiving an error message for one or more of the following reasons:

    • You are not entering in a valid U.S. Visa Signature card number. Please reach out to your bank to confirm that you are a Visa Signature cardholder. Once your bank has confirmed you as a Visa Signature cardholder, please contact AskVisaUSA@visa.com with any further questions regarding offer eligibility. Title your email “Visa Signature Clear Offer” (For your security and protection, please DO NOT include your complete credit card number in any correspondence sent via email).
    • You may have a new Visa Signature card that has not yet been added to our validation system. If you have just received your Visa Signature card, please contact Visa Signature Concierge at 800-953-7392 and a Concierge can assist with your enrollment.
  • Can I use another credit or debit card to pay for this purchase?

    No. You must use your valid Visa Signature card to pay for this purchase in order to take advantage of the Visa Signature CLEAR offer.

  • I am an existing CLEAR member, and I do have a Visa Signature card, but it’s not the card I have on file with CLEAR. What can I do?

    The free 6 month trial applies only to new CLEAR memberships but cardholders who have a Visa Signature card may access the Visa Signature offer of $119 ($60 off the automatic annual fee of $179) when the membership automatically renews by contacting the CLEAR call center at 855-VISA-CLR (847-2257).

  • Why am I providing my Visa Signature card number if this is a free trial?

    CLEAR uses your card number for two reasons. First, CLEAR will use it to validate that your card is eligible for the special Visa Signature discounted membership fee. Second, if you don’t cancel prior to the end of your free trial, your membership will automatically renew as a paid membership and CLEAR will charge that card the special Visa Signature discounted rate of $119 for an additional 12 months of membership.

  • What happens at the end of my 6-month free trial?

    At the end of your 6-month trial, unless you cancel your membership by calling CLEAR at 855-VISA-CLR (847-2257), it will automatically renew as a paid membership for another 12 months. On your renewal date, your card on file will be charged $119, which is $60 off the regular CLEAR annual membership renewal rate of $179.

  • Does my CLEAR membership automatically renew each year?

    Yes. To make sure you can continue using your CLEAR membership without interruption, CLEAR will automatically renew your membership using the card CLEAR has on file for you. CLEAR will send you reminder e-mails before each renewal letting you know the membership fee for the upcoming year and how you can cancel your membership

  • Are there any cancellation fees?

    If you cancel your membership at the time within 45 days after your renewal is processed, there are no cancellation fees, and you will receive a full refund of your membership fee for the year you are canceling. After that 45-day period, if you cancel your membership, CLEAR will refund you a portion of your annual membership fee based on how much of your membership year is remaining. The standard $30 cancellation fee will be waived for any annual membership purchased while the Visa Signature offer is in effect. These policies apply only to memberships purchased as part of this Visa Signature offer; if the offer is no longer in effect, CLEAR’s standard cancellation policies and fees will apply.

  • How do I cancel my CLEAR membership?

    Within the first 45 days after each annual renewal is processed, you can cancel your CLEAR membership and receive a full refund of your annual membership fee. After that 45-day period, you can still cancel your membership any time and receive a pro-rated refund based on how much of your membership year is remaining. The standard $30 cancellation fee will be waived for any annual membership purchased while the Visa Signature offer is in effect.

    These policies apply only to memberships purchased as part of this Visa Signature offer; if the offer is no longer in effect, CLEAR’s standard cancellation policies and fees will apply.
