Who can become a CLEAR member?

CLEAR welcomes individuals 18 years of age and older.

In order to enroll, you must have one of the following forms of photo identification: US Driver's License, US Passport, US Passport Card, US-issued Permanent Resident Card, State Issued ID, or US Military ID.

All forms of identification must be valid, unexpired, not amended, and have a photo.

Children under 18 can use the CLEAR Lane for free when accompanied by a CLEAR family member. No enrollment is required for the child.

How does CLEAR work?

With CLEAR, your eyes and your fingerprints get you through security faster at several major airports and stadiums across the contiguous US. At participating airports, look for the CLEAR Lane at TSA security checkpoints. A CLEAR team member will greet you at our lane to help you scan your boarding pass, tap your finger or take a quick snapshot of your eyes, and then escort you straight to physical screening. It's that easy!

Those with TSA PreCheck can also enjoy CLEAR to speed even faster through the full airport security and screening process. If you are TSA PreCheck eligible for your flight, visit the CLEAR Lane and verify your identity. We will read your TSA PreCheck eligibility on your boarding pass and escort you to the TSA PreCheck expedited lanes for physical screening. Visit our where we are page before your next flight to see which CLEAR Lanes are situated next to TSA PreCheck.

Using CLEAR at sports stadiums is simple and included with the CLEAR membership! Members can simply go to the CLEAR Lane, tap their fingers, and be on their way to enjoy the big event.

CLEAR Sports is a free membership for fans to enjoy expedited entry to games at participating stadiums. CLEAR Sports does not provide access to non-stadium CLEAR locations. CLEAR Sports members may bring one guest with them through the CLEAR Lane. CLEAR Sports members can upgrade to a full membership anytime by logging in at my.clearme.com and selecting 'Upgrade'. How do I join CLEAR?

Enrolling is easy! It only takes 5 minutes to complete, no appointments necessary, and you can start online to save even more time. Once enrolled, you can begin using CLEAR the very same day.

Begin the process by registering online and finish at a CLEAR location, or you can do the entire enrollment process at one of our CLEAR locations. The final steps of enrollment include answering a few simple questions to verify your identity, providing a valid photo ID and method of payment, and attaching your biometrics (fingerprints and a picture of your irises) to your newly created account.

For identification, we accept one of the following: US Driver's License, US Passport, US Passport Card, US-issued Permanent Resident Card, State Issued ID, or US Military ID.

For payment, we accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express credit and debit cards.

How do I enroll a family member?

Once you are a CLEAR member, simply log into your account on my.clearme.com where you have instant access to your Family Plan. Add up to 3 family members for $50/each per year. Remember: children under 18 can use the lane for free when accompanied by a CLEAR member. There is no need to add children under 18 to your account.

How do I log in to my account?

Visit clearme.com and click Sign In at the top right of the page.

How do I cancel my membership?

To cancel your membership, log into your account at my.clearme.com, and click the 'Change Renewal Settings or Cancel' link in the membership details section.

How do I update my account information?

To update your name with CLEAR, you'll need to visit a CLEAR location where we can update your account records and biometrics.

Please bring your updated (renewed, not amended) ID. Your ID must be one of the following: US Driver's License, US Passport, US Issued Permanent Resident Card, State Issued ID, or US Military ID. All forms of identification must be valid, unexpired, not amended, and have a photo.

You can update payment details by logging in at my.clearme.com and selecting "Update Billing." You can also update other details like your password and phone number.

How do I order a replacement CLEAR card?

We no longer use CLEAR cards so there is no need for a replacement. Active members only need their boarding pass or event ticket to use the CLEAR Lane at the airport or stadium respectively.

How do I activate my canceled membership?

Simply log in at my.clearme.com and select 'Reactivate'. You do not need to update your biometrics as we have them on file.

Does the name on my CLEAR account need to match the name on my boarding pass?

Yes. In compliance with airport security and safety regulations, and in order to use our CLEAR Lanes, the name on your boarding pass must match the name on your account. To ensure a seamless experience when using CLEAR, please remember to book your travel using the name on your CLEAR account. If you need to change the name on your CLEAR account, simply bring an ID that matches the name on your airline profile to one of our CLEAR locations and we’ll be happy to assist you.

How do I print my receipt?

Once your credit card on file has been successfully charged for your CLEAR membership, you can print your most recent receipt from your account page. Log into your account at my.clearme.com and click "print receipt" on the right side.

How do I inquire about careers at CLEAR?

What forms of payment are accepted?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, and American Express credit and debit cards. CLEAR is a subscription service that renews automatically each year. Members can change their auto-renewal settings by going to my.clearme.com and selecting 'Change Renewal Settings or Cancel'.

What is a CLEAR Lane?

CLEAR Lanes are designated lanes at airport security checkpoints or sports stadiums that are dedicated for CLEAR members.

How is my information used?

Privacy is at the center of everything we do at CLEAR and we are fully committed to protecting our members' information. We never sell or rent personal information. Personal information is only used to provide the services associated with the CLEAR membership. Please see our privacy policy for more details.

Where can I use CLEAR?

CLEAR is available at several major airports and sports stadiums across the contiguous US. CLEAR can also be used for entry to Delta Sky Clubs for those with Delta Sky Club access. You can see more about CLEAR's locations and where to enroll by visiting where we are.

Pricing

How much does CLEAR cost?

The full CLEAR membership is $179 per year (just $15 per month) and provides access to all CLEAR locations at participating airports, stadiums and anywhere else CLEAR may go. A full membership includes the ability to add up to 3 family members for only $50/each per year. Children under 18 can use the CLEAR Lane with a member for free! There is no need to add children under 18 to your CLEAR account.

CLEAR Sports is a free membership for fans to enjoy expedited entry to games at participating stadiums. At sports stadiums, members may bring one guest with them through the CLEAR Lane. CLEAR Sports members can upgrade to a full membership anytime by logging in at my.clearme.com and selecting 'Upgrade'.

TSA PreCheck

How does CLEAR work with TSA PreCheck?

Those with TSA PreCheck can also enjoy CLEAR to speed even faster through the full airport security and screening process. If you are TSA PreCheck eligible for your flight, visit the CLEAR Lane and verify your identity. We will read your TSA PreCheck eligibility on your boarding pass and escort you to the TSA PreCheck expedited lanes for physical screening. Visit our where we are page before your next flight to see which CLEAR Lanes are situated next to TSA PreCheck.

CLEAR and TSA PreCheck are sold separately and it is not necessary to have TSA PreCheck to use CLEAR. CLEAR expedites the travel document check process while TSA PreCheck expedites the physical screening process. Many of our members find that these two services complement each other providing the quickest, surest route through the airport entire security and screening experience.

How is CLEAR different from TSA PreCheck or Global Entry?

CLEAR, TSA PreCheck, and Global Entry are all separate services that help expedite different parts of the travel experience.

At airports, CLEAR speeds members through the travel document check process on departing flights. CLEAR members also enjoy an expedited screening process at sports stadiums and other partner services where CLEAR is used to replace your ID.

TSA PreCheck speeds passengers through physical screening while Global Entry speeds passengers through US Border Control and Customs on arriving flights. Many of our members enjoy CLEAR along with these other services, but CLEAR members do not need TSA PreCheck or Global Entry to enjoy the benefits of CLEAR.

To reactivate your account, or to view your remaining time, simply login to my.clearme.com. If you do not remember your password, please follow the instructions to establish a new one.

Hertz Fast Lane powered by CLEAR

What do I need to have on my CLEAR profile to use Hertz Fast Lane powered by CLEAR?

CLEAR members need to have a valid driver’s license as well as a photo and their fingerprints on file. You can add your fingerprints and license at any CLEAR airport location. Visit www.clearme.com/where-we-are to see our growing list of locations.

Who is eligible for Hertz Fast Lane powered by CLEAR?

You’ll need to have your CLEAR and Hertz accounts linked.

Your CLEAR membership must have your fingerprints and photo attached as well as a valid US Driver’s License associated with your membership.

You also must be registered for Hertz Gold Plus Rewards in the United States. At this time, we’re unable to offer this service for non-US Gold or Initial Gold members, as well as those Hertz members with expired licenses.

As long as your CLEAR and Hertz Gold Plus Rewards accounts meet the requirements mentioned above, you can link your accounts at clearme.com/hertz.

I’m a CLEAR member. Do I have to be a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards member to participate?

Yes! You can become a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards Member at www.hertz.com/rentacar/member/enrollment.

I’m a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards member. Do I have to be a member of CLEAR to participate?

Yes! You need to be a CLEAR member in order to participate. Your CLEAR membership must have your fingerprints and photo attached as well as a valid US Driver’s License associated with your membership.

To become a member, go to clearme.com/hertz and select ‘ENROLL FOR FREE’.

How do I become a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards member?

Become a Hertz Gold Plus member for free at www.hertz.com/rentacar/member/enrollment. After you complete your first rental with your Hertz Gold Plus rewards account, you can link your accounts to use the Hertz Fast Lane powered by CLEAR.

I have a CLEAR sports membership. Can I link my Hertz account?

Yes! Visit clearme.com/hertz and click “Link accounts” to proceed. Don't forget, you'll need to have a valid US Driver’s License as well as fingerprints and a photo associated with your membership.

Do you offer a special CLEAR rate for Hertz Gold Plus Rewards members? How do I get this?

Yes! Hertz Gold Plus Rewards members enrolling in CLEAR for the first time are eligible for a complimentary membership trial and exclusive pricing of $129/ year based on your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards status. This offer is only for new enrolling members.

I’m a CLEAR member and enrolled with my Passport. What do I do?

You’ll need to have a valid US driver’s license associated with your CLEAR membership in order to use CLEAR and Hertz together. If you have a valid US driver’s license, you can associate it with your CLEAR membership by visiting any CLEAR location, where a CLEAR ambassador can walk you through these steps. For a full list of CLEAR locations, visit www.clearme.com/where-we-are.

I'm having trouble linking my CLEAR and Hertz account. What do I do?

So sorry about that! If you were unable to link your CLEAR and Hertz accounts, you should have received a message with next steps.  

As a reminder, make sure your CLEAR membership has a valid US Driver’s License, a photo, and your fingerprints on file. You must also have completed at least one reservation with your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards account.

I linked my Hertz account, but I’d also like to add my Delta SkyMiles number to receive Delta pricing. How do I do that?

Existing CLEAR members can go to http://bit.ly/CLEARxDeltaSKM where, after successfully signing in, you’ll be able to add your Delta SkyMiles number. Once you’ve added your Delta SkyMiles number, CLEAR will update your membership to auto-renew at the exclusive Delta pricing based on your Delta Medallion status.

Is this at every Hertz location?

Not yet! Currently, you can use CLEAR at select Hertz airport locations.

I’m an existing CLEAR member with an annual subscription, and I recently linked my account. Can I receive the $129 pricing?

While we’re thrilled to have you as an existing CLEAR member, exclusive Hertz pricing is for new enrolling CLEAR members only.

Can I reserve my car via CLEAR?

Reservations must be made through Hertz directly at https://www.hertz.com/rentacar/reservation/

What do I do if I have trouble with my face or fingerprints being recognized while attempting to leave the lot?

If you have any trouble, a Hertz customer service representative will be able to help you on the spot.

How do I unlink my accounts?

Unlinking your account is easy! Just log in to your CLEAR account at my.clearme.com, select “Update Accounts Linked”, and select “Unlink Account” under the Hertz logo.

As a Delta SkyMiles member, how can I take advantage of the SkyMiles pricing?

CLEAR and Delta are pleased to offer exclusive membership rates for U.S. based Delta SkyMiles members. This includes complimentary membership for Diamond Medallion® members and $109 preferential pricing for Platinum, Gold and Silver Medallion members. Additionally, we offer a $119 annual membership rate for General SkyMiles members. Once linked, your pricing automatically changes on your next renewal date.

How does CLEAR's simplified, one-tap ID and Boarding Pass work?

Delta SkyMiles members traveling with Delta no longer need to scan their paper or mobile boarding pass at the CLEAR pod, making it even easier to get through security.

While this won’t replace the need for a mobile or physical boarding pass, moving through CLEAR will be even faster.

Can I use CLEAR to access the Delta Sky Club®?

Yes! Delta Sky Club members with a CLEAR membership can use their fingerprints to enter all 50 U.S. Delta Sky Club locations thanks to Delta Biometrics powered by CLEAR.

Delta Sky Club members without a CLEAR membership who are U.S. citizens or permanent residents can access Delta Sky Clubs with just a touch by enrolling in select Delta Sky Club locations across the country. Updated Delta SkyMiles Pricing

Is CLEAR’s standard rate going up?

No – the price for a CLEAR membership remains the same ($179/year).

I’m an existing CLEAR member that currently enjoys Delta SkyMiles pricing. Will I be able to keep this rate when I renew?

Yes – as long as you don’t cancel your membership, the price you pay will not change.

I’m an existing CLEAR member who currently enjoys Delta pricing. If I decide to cancel, will I be able to automatically return at my old rate, or will I get the new Delta rate?

You will continue to pay what you pay today as long as you don’t cancel your membership. If you do choose to cancel your membership, and then re-enroll in the future, you’ll be charged at the new rate.

What is CLEAR Sports and how does it work?

CLEAR members can access a dedicated CLEAR Lane to enter the venue, and they can rest assured knowing they’ll get the same experience every time they attend an event.

Who can use CLEAR Sports?

All CLEAR members can use CLEAR Sports. This includes anyone with a Basic or Premium CLEAR membership. To view all of our sports and entertainment locations, visit clearme.com/sports.

How do I enroll in CLEAR Sports?

You can start your free sports enrollment online at clearme.com/sports and finish in minutes at any CLEAR location. You can also upgrade your membership to enjoy CLEAR airport access by selecting ‘Sports + Airports’ during the enrollment process.

Is CLEAR Sports free?

Yes! A CLEAR Sports membership is absolutely free.

CLEAR members who pay for airport access can enjoy all of the benefits of a sports membership at no additional cost. You can upgrade your membership for use at airports by logging into my.clearme.com and selecting ‘Upgrade.’ Your username is the email address that you used to enroll.

Can I bring a guest with me to the stadium or venue?

Every member can bring one (1) adult guest through a CLEAR Lane per day at stadiums and venues. Children under 18 don’t need a membership to use CLEAR when accompanied by an adult.

How do I upgrade to an airport membership?

If you’d like to experience the benefits of CLEAR at the airport, you can upgrade your membership at any time by logging into my.clearme.com. Your username is the email address that you used to enroll.

What is Biometric Ticketing?

As the official biometric ticketing partner of the MLB, you can link your CLEAR and MLB.com accounts to get into select venues with a single tap.

Here’s how it works: In the CLEAR Lane, your fingerprint is all you need to access your MLB Ballpark app tickets – no need to pull out your phone or printed ticket as you enter the game.

To link your accounts, log into my.clearme.com/MLB (your username is usually your email address) and follow the instructions to enjoy biometric ticketing.

While we're here to help streamline the entry process, there are other areas in the stadium that may require a ticket (either printed or in your MLB Ballpark app).

You can use biometric ticketing at Citi Field for any NY Mets game, but stay tuned as we roll out more stadiums soon.

What is CLEAR Concessions?

In select venues, CLEAR members can use their fingerprints to purchase food and drinks at specific locations – no need to swipe a credit card or show an ID.

To enjoy CLEAR at the concession stand, log into my.clearme.com and add a payment method.

Currently, the only venues accepting biometric payments are T-Mobile Park (Seattle Mariners) and CenturyLink Field (Seattle Seahawks and Seattle Sounders). Stay tuned for more venues to follow.
